Privacy Policy

AI Translation: Scan Translator · Effective September 2, 2026

This policy explains what the AI Translation: Scan Translator app (the "App"), made by Frame Sixty Labs, LLC ("Frame Sixty", "we", "us"), does with your information. The short version: translation happens on your device, and we do not collect your personal data.

1. What we do not collect

No account is needed and we do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
The text you type, the photos you import, the camera frames the App looks at, the words you save and the audio you dictate are processed on your device. None of it is sent to Frame Sixty.
We do not use advertising SDKs, tracking, or third-party analytics services, and we do not sell or share personal data.

2. On-device processing

Text recognition, object recognition, translation and language identification run on your device using Google ML Kit models. Camera frames are analysed live in memory and are not stored by the App. Photos you import are read only to recognise text and are not copied.

3. Data stored on your device

The App keeps the following only on your device, so it works offline:

your settings (languages, preferences, onboarding answers);
your saved words and your recent translation history;
a daily usage counter for the free plan;
downloaded language packs and models.

You can clear history and delete saved words in the App, and deleting the App removes all of this data.

4. Permissions

Camera — to recognise text and objects live. Used only while the camera tabs are open.
Photos — only the photo you choose to import is read.
Microphone and Speech Recognition — to turn what you say into text when you tap the microphone. The App uses Apple's speech recognition; depending on your device and language, Apple may process the audio on its servers under Apple's privacy policy.

You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

5. Downloads from third parties

Language packs and recognition models are downloaded from Google's servers when you request them. During a download Google receives standard connection information such as your IP address, as described in Google's privacy policy. No translation content is included in these requests.

6. Purchases

Premium subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The App checks your purchase status with Apple on your device to unlock Premium and to restore purchases.

7. Diagnostics

The App does not send crash reports or usage analytics to Frame Sixty. If you share diagnostics with Apple, that is governed by Apple's privacy settings on your device.

8. Children

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Your rights

Because we do not hold your personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side; everything lives on your device and is under your control. If you have questions about your rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA, contact us using the details below.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be available in the App under Settings and on this page, with the effective date above.
