Privacy Policy
Effective: April 20, 2026
WatchLux Faces (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is published by Frame Sixty Labs LLC. We respect your privacy and are committed to being transparent about how we handle your data.
Information We Collect Directly
We do not ask you for personal information. WatchLux Faces does not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying information.
Device Permissions
WatchLux Faces may request the following optional permissions:
- Location: Used only on-device for weather complications on your watch face. Your precise location data is never sent to our servers.
- Health (HealthKit): Used only on-device for activity complications on your watch face. Health data is never sent to our servers and is processed entirely on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
Both permissions are optional. The app works fully without them.
Subscription & Purchase Data
If you purchase WatchLux+ (either the weekly subscription or the one-time Lifetime purchase), the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card number, or Apple ID. We only receive a confirmation from Apple that a valid entitlement exists.
Analytics & Diagnostics
WatchLux Faces uses the following Google Firebase services to help us understand how the app is used and to fix bugs. All data is handled under Google’s privacy practices as a data processor on our behalf; we never combine it with other personal data.
Firebase Analytics (usage analytics)
We use Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect aggregated, non-personal usage data so we can improve the app. This includes:
- App events (e.g. which watch faces are browsed, previewed, or synced)
- Device information (iOS version, device model, language, country)
- Approximate location (country-level, derived from IP address)
- An anonymous installation identifier (Apple’s IDFV — per-app, not used for cross-app tracking)
- Session metrics (when the app is opened and for how long)
Firebase Analytics does not access the IDFA (advertising identifier) and does not use Google Signals in WatchLux Faces, so no App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown. We do not use this data for advertising and do not share it with advertisers.
Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)
We use Firebase Crashlytics (provided by Google) to collect automated crash reports so we can diagnose and fix bugs. When the app crashes, Crashlytics sends:
- A stack trace of the crash
- Device state at the time of the crash (iOS version, device model, memory, battery level, orientation)
- An anonymous installation identifier
Crashlytics does not collect your personal data or the contents of your watch faces. Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days.
How to opt out
Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are enabled by default. You can disable all app analytics and crash reporting system-wide by turning off Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Share iPhone Analytics on your device.
Data Storage
Your in-app preferences (synced watch faces, filter settings, selected watch model) are stored locally on your device using Apple’s standard storage mechanisms. This data is not transmitted to any server.
Watch Face Syncing
When you add a watch face, the face data is transferred directly from your iPhone to your Apple Watch using Apple’s native APIs. The watch face artwork is downloaded from our servers on demand; no personal data is sent along with that request.
Third-Party Services
WatchLux Faces interacts with the following third parties:
- Apple — App Store subscription processing, push of watch faces to your Apple Watch. Subject to Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Google (Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Storage) — Aggregated usage analytics, crash reporting, and delivery of watch face artwork and metadata. Subject to Firebase’s Privacy and Security and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Analytics event data is retained by Firebase for up to 14 months. Crash reports are retained for up to 90 days. Because no user account exists, there is no individual user record to delete — opting out (see above) prevents future data from being collected.
Children’s Privacy
WatchLux Faces does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to use, and the analytics data described above is not combined with personal identifiers.
Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal information and have no user accounts, we do not maintain an individual record we can look up, export, or delete on request. If you have questions about the non-personal analytics data Firebase processes, contact us using the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app with an updated effective date.
